    Lightweight, works great!

I bought this to pick up shattered glass on my driveway. Good grip, no need to bend to pickup trash objects.

    Good Grabber!

This grabber saves me the trouble of dragging a step stool to the laundry room every time I need something out of the cabinet. We put in a pedestal washer/dryer combo, and they're so deep and tall I can't reach the cabinets without help anymore! I'm impressed by the overall sturdiness, and most of the grabber is constructed of aluminum, with the exception of the plastic handle. The rubberized gripping surfaces have small fins that deform around the object being lifted in order to give a more secure hold. There's also a magnet built into one of the grippers that can pick up a decent sized lag bolt. The handle is designed in such a way that the gripping action is naturally activated when holding a heavy object. This design feature makes it easier to pick up and hold larger objects with less fatigue. The jaws couldn't quite get around a jumbo roll of paper towels, but once I nudged them over, I could grab them by the tube in the middle. The jaws are big enough to easily fit over the smallest dimension of a standard box of tissues though. It can also handle picking up smaller objects as well - I found I could easily retrieve dimes, pennies, and quarters off of the floor. As for the jaw width, I measured it at 5.5" at its widest point, and 4.125" at it's narrowest clearance when open. Overall, these grabbers are an excellent solution for reaching high places and avoiding bending over to pick up objects on the floor. The grip strength is very good, and the design is excellent.

Handy, well-made item for around the house

This is a surprisingly versatile, well-made item that I've found many uses for around the house. Cereal box out of reach on the top shelf? Not any more. Pesky branch hanging off the edgy of the gutter? No ladder necessary! The rubber ends of the "nabber" mean it actually has quite a bit of precision and grip. I was skeptical of the claims it could pick up a coin from the ground, but it can without a problem. Cans and boxes stay in the nabber without slipping while taking them down from the higher shelves. Really well made. Good to know: If you're considering this for an elderly family member you should know this has some "heft." It's not heavy, but when I was using it to reach across the table to pick up a can, I felt I needed to support the tool with my other hand (my forearm wasn't strong enough).

This is defintely the best gripper we have ever owned.

Over the years it has become more difficult to bend over to pick various objects up. We have purchased a number of low-priced reach extenders/grippers to help solve this issues. However, they begin to break after only a few months of use; normally with the rubber tip grips snapping off. The nifty grabber is heavy duty and well-built. It has had no problem picking up the Sweet Gum tree balls, pine cones, and twigs that litter our yard and must be cleared prior to mowing. It can also pick up heavy objects that we would not even attempt to do with the lower-priced grabbers. Having a magnet imbedded in the jaws of the nabber is a real plus for picking up small screws and parts that may have fallen into the grass or onto a floor. This is a fabulous tool for everyone and not just those of us getting up in age.

    It even picks up paper.

This is a well built grabber. It is solidly built with aluminum pipe body, and heavy duty grabbers. It also has a magnet inbedded in the side of one of the grabber, but I am not sure how much use that will get. It works great for getting jars/cans off of a shelf, as expected. But Mary found another use for it. It works great for picking up the dog toys. It will also pick up sale papers, or scraps of paper off the floor. It even worked on the stuffing from a toy the dogs destroyed! It is going to see a lot of use around here! One thing I have to figure out is if it is possible to change the trigger to close the grabber to be positioned like a pistol grip instead of being parallel to the shaft.

    Quite a bit of desterity

I was quite surprised how much dexterity this reach and pickup device provides. One can pick a dime off of the floor without bending over. Do not count on the magnetic feature claimed for this device to do much. It will not attract steel dropped on a floor, however, simply close the jaws on it for clamping and one can pick it even a small screw, nut or washer without bending over. My main use for this aid is picking up litter while mowing with our riding mower. I have attached a clamping device to the fender of my rider to hold this device within easy reach while seated. I've tried it out, finding it handy for picking up paper and plastic litter as well as plastic bottles and aluminum cans while on the mower. It ends the need to stop, get off the mower, get back on and restart the mower deck blades just to retrieve litter. Read Less

Very helpful tool! Soooo glad I got it

Very helpful tool! It can pick up even the tiniest piece of paper which is very helpful now that I have a hip issue and can no longer bend. I am short and can reach places I would have needed a stool for but can't stand on a stool anymore. For me, though, because of my short arms its a little hard to take something from the grip end and put it into my other hand while holding the handle -- can do it but its a little awkward so a few inches shorter would be great but then again for reaching higher things the extra inches are helpful!!

    useful

This product is one of those items every one may be able to use at some point. It is useful to put up and take down canned goods from the top shelve. Not just for the kitchen anywhere you need to pick up something -- off the floor, behind a desk, under the table etc.

Easy to Use and Easy to "Nab"

For someone who is consistently dropping things and being cursed with short arms, this product is great as I am able to "nab" things that I've dropped behind couches and other furniture easily.

VERY Handy Gadget Whenever You Need a Little Extra Reach

I found a use for the Nifty Nabber the second day I had it - reaching a box of popcorn that had slid to the back of the top shelf in the cupboard. I was easily able to bring it down, with the box held securely in the rubber grips of the pincer end. The grips are also grooved, supplying a good surface to hold just about any item. The plastic handle works the pincer end smoothly as well, with relatively little push needed to operate it. The pincer end is approximately 5 inches wide and 4 inches in height, able to grip a wide variety of objects. I can definitely see the Nabber coming in handy once the weather clears and I can get outside to do my yard work. I highly recommend this device.
