Great household tool.

This device was supplied by the Home Depot SEEDs program. This is a handy house hold tool for grasping and moving objects that maybe just out of reach, such as a can of food on a high shelf, or some other small object.
The device consists of a pair of opposing rubber booted fingers that can be closed on a object to grasp it. The fingers have a open span of approximately 4.5”, and when closed on a object can grasp it. The closure of the fingers is controlled at the handle end by a squeeze controlled lever. It’s constructed of a Aluminum tube, about three feet long, with the grabbing fingers on one end and a plastic, molded control lever on the other end. The whole assembly weighs approximately 11 oz. The aluminum tube provides a light strong support frame that is resistant to bending. On the “handle” end there is also a opening molded into the handle so that it can be hung on a small wall peg for storage.
There is a small, 1/8” diameter rare-earth magnet molded into one of the two grasping fingers for picking up ferrous metal objects. The magnet is small, to it is only good for light weight objects. (Small bolts, screws or nails).
Overall, this a a great little tool to have around the house. It saves having to get a step-stool or ladder to get things that maybe just out of reach. It also is good for retrieving things that are behind, or under furniture.
