It’s a good thing
This is the first product of this kind which is made strong and functional on contrary from other flimsy products on the market. It can easily grasp and lift cans or glass jars up to 4 inch of diameter (see pics. 3&4). It does not have as good grip on flat objects like boxes, because the contact area on the end of rigid jaw with box is very small and box keeps sliding. If there is built in magnet as Unger claims, I found it’s strength negligible. I am shorter person and reaching into upper shelf in the kitchen is difficult for me. This would be for me great helper if it also picks boxes.
The Nifty Nabber’s body is strong light weight metal rod 1 inch dia. The strong metal jaw can open in the most narrow area 4 1/4 inch wide. Ends of jaws are rubber with strong non skid surface (see pic.1). End of the handle is strong plastic with the push lever. I wish that the plastic handle around the rod is at least 1 1/2 inch longer, because when I squeeze the lever and hold the grabbed jar, my hand slides down from plastic handle (see pic.2). On the end of handle is eye for hanging (good idea). It has its small “bugs” but otherwise it’s a nice tool.
I did not find any word about warranty, but Mfr. is offering Satisfaction Guaranteed with phone number to call to
