Nice concept but not very functional

I don’t have too much use for this item because I am over six feet tall buy my wife is a foot shorter and can definitely use this. I think the concept of this grabber is good but the execution of it is not. This grabber is okay for picking up lightweight items but I would never trust it to pick up heavier or fragile items. When you grab something with this, you need to squeeze the grip and hold it until you can grab the item with your hand. If you lessen your grip at all, the item will fall and if it’s fragile, probably break. Also, the pole is 36 inches in length so once you grab something, it becomes somewhat hard to control. I tested this with items of various sizes and weights and found that only the lightest items felt as if they were under control when I grabbed them.
There are a couple things that could have made this better. On the grip, there should be a switch that locks the claw into place so once you grab an item, it would not fall out of the claw. It would also be good if it had a second handle in the middle of the pole to help you in controlling it if you pick up a heavier item.
Don’t purchase this item unless you are okay with your belongings falling out of the claw. Like I said before, this is a good idea but I can’t recommend it.
