Starts to fall apart in 6-8 months

Of course it’s great…. until it falls apart. This is made of brittle rubber that cracks and breaks after a few months, just read the other reviews. We bought this for our laundry area (indoor) because my husband’s workplace had one there that worked well and still hasn’t fallen apart, I’m guessing because they used better rubber back in the good old days. The one we got had rubber that started to crack and break after about 6 months. I tried to glue it but that didn’t last long either. At 8 months all of the rubber components were craked or broken. I found the original receipt and returned it to the local Home Depot here, at first the girl at the return desk was quibbling about it being outside the 90 day return period, but finally a manager stepped up and did the right thing. If stores are going to sell unstable merchandise, they need to at least stand behind the quality of their products. I exchanged it for Home Depot’s Everbilt Wall-Mounted Spring Storage Clip Bar which doesn’t have any rubber or plastic on it. We might need 2 since they are short, but the one we have works so far and looks a lot better than the Unger one we replaced. Will have to wait a year before giving it a comprehensive review though, lesson learned… I hope.
